Meet The Team
Michael Richter, LPC
Virtual therapy anywhere in Texas
Clients come to me when they’re tired of surface-level therapy and ready to actually do the work.
I’m a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, EMDR-trained, and currently completing a Ph.D in trauma. I’ve spent years working in addiction treatment centers and mental health care, and I specialize in helping clients unpack trauma, break old patterns, and finally start to feel like themselves again.
I’m here, in it with you. I’m the guy who can sit with you in the heavy stuff and still make you laugh when you least expect it.
Clients say I’m the one they can say anything to, without fear of judgment. I’m straightforward, sometimes a little sarcastic, always compassionate. I’ll challenge you when you need it and back you up every step of the way. I’ve lived through my own stuff, so I don’t do fake. And I don’t expect you to either.

Clients working with me are often carrying complex, layered pain—especially from relationships that left them confused, shut down, or ashamed.
I specialize in narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, and trauma recovery, and I bring a blend of clinical training and real-life perspective into every session.
I’ve lived through a lot of what my clients have been through, and that means I get it on a level that goes beyond theory.
I’ll walk beside you, not in front of you. I ask curious questions, point out patterns, and make space for the mess without rushing the process.
I don’t do performative positivity. I believe in finding beauty in the broken places and holding space for the whole truth, even when it’s hard.
If it’s awkward, we name it. If it’s heavy, we breathe through it. And if you need someone to sit in the dark with you until the light comes back, I’m here for that too.

Clients come to Joanna when they’re ready to stop living on autopilot and start exploring what’s really going on beneath the surface.
I work with adults (18+) navigating toxic relationships, burnout, difficult family dynamics, and the messy, nonlinear path of personal growth. I also work and support neurodivergent clients (ADHD, Level 1 ASD), and I have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, life transitions, and recovery from domestic violence. My background as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) informs my real-world approach to supporting clients with autism.
If it’s awkward, we name it. If it’s heavy, we breathe through it. And if you need someone to sit in the dark with you until the light comes back, I’m here for that too.
